I know this is a belated message, but I would like to thank all the members of the Academy band, and Fletch for helping out at the Eastry Fete. I know some of you were put right in at the deep end at very short notice.
Thanks again.

On Friday 16th July there will be an evening to celebrate the Kent miners organised and hosted by Jerry Vyse. Entry is FREE.
The show will include film footage about the Kent miners, as well as an exerpt from the forthcoming play Sea Side Story - a retelling of the story of Romeo and Juliet set in the 1930s between local Deal families and the newly arrived miners.
All evening George Brailsford will be signing copies of his new book A Mine Of Humour - an animated collection of stories, anecdotes and naughty jokes which look back at the lighter side of working at Betteshanger Colliery.

DEAL WELFARE CLUB
Cowdray Square, Mill Hill, Deal (NOT the bandroom at Cavell Square!!!!!)
All ages welcome
Doors Open 7pm
Show starts 8pm

Well done everyone for an excellent concert last night! We have had some superb feedback including that it was the best ever 'Brass on the Grass'.
Well done to Steve Mac, well done to Tiff and her lovely voice and of course who could forget the fabulous 'Vuvuzela Girls'?
I have uploaded a few photos taken by Leoni (Karen's mum).
See you tomorrow.

Nice pictures - looks like you had a great night.

I see you have solved the age old problem of how to tune a tenor horn!

See you at Eastry for tea and cake smile

that's great Marina, thank you. You will need to bring a stand and green waistcoat. 2pm start so you need to be there at 1.30 to help set the stands up with the senior band.
xx
