Just a quick reminder for Sunday that we are meeting at the Castle at 1130 to get set up for 1200.
We are playing from 1200 to 1300 and 1500 to 1600. Sorry, I know this conflicts with the footie.
Don't forget your picnic food and if anyone has a collapsable table or paste table please bring it to put the food on.
We are playing on Palace Green and guests are welcome as long as they travel with you.

Well done to everyone for Saturday night!!
We have had some very complimentary feedback regarding the concert from both the audience and the choir. The word 'remarkable' has even been used.
Well done again.

Hi French Steve, hope you have not been affected at all by the horrendous flash floods over there.
Keep us all posted as to how you are.

English Steve in France Thursday, 24 June 2010 10:35
Thanks for the concern; however, all is well here we just had a dull week with some rain but nothing to speak about. It just made the grass grow…. Today is another wall to wall blue sky, the temperature is probably going to get up to 29 today, the pool temperature is around 24/25 degrees and my beer is about 4 degrees. Just a thought, how many jobs can there be where you see most of your clients in a state of undress? Must go and drink my beer before it gets too warm. CHEERS!!
Don’t believe me? Just ask Chris….!!!

English Steve in England. Friday, 25 June 2010 09:36
Sounds rubbish. I would rather be at work in England, without a beer, until I am 66, maybe even longer, without a pool.
Glad to hear you are safe and well. We will keep the band liferaft on standby though. That weather has to be too good to last...... surely!

Terry from Croydon. Friday, 25 June 2010 19:16
Yea but I don't like being ogled by blokes drinking beer. I'm keeping my top on from now on.

English Steve in France Saturday, 26 June 2010 06:45
Dont worry Terry from Croydon, topless men do nothing for me. However...!!!

eek! Kevin Wadsworth......hope you have a nice horn part Kaaarrrrreennnn.....
More about Kevin
Kevin Wadsworth started his playing career on cornet at the age of six, retired aged seven and came out of retirement aged eight. He is probably best known for his time as the principal horn of the Black Dyke Mills Band. He joined Black Dyke at the age of 14, becoming its youngest ever player and in the intervening years secured his reputation as one of the finest horn players of his generation.

no pressure then.......

For some reason I can't get the forthcoming events to load up and am trying to find out if we are doing anything on the 10th July. If we are can someone let me know if it is an evening thing or an afternoon thing?
Thanks .

karen 1 Tuesday, 8 June 2010 18:05
Hello Isla. You need to use Firefox as the search engine and NOT Windows Explorer. Don't ask why.

The job is SHEPHERDSWELL BRASS ON GRASS
July 10, 2010 7:30 PM. The time needs to be finally confirmed but is about right. It will possibly be a 7pm start.

The Albert Camus School will be arriving at the bandroom tomorrow morning between 0900 and 0930.

Dave C is back safe and well and will be conducting.

Anyone who can make it to play will be very welcome and the format will be the same as usual. A couple of hymns, a march and a piece or two. Ivor will of course be explaining what life was like in the colliery.

Hope to see you there.
